Start Date:               Fall 2010
Location:                 North Burnaby
Early Childhood Educator for a new Infant/Toddler Group Daycare required to provide help in the delivery of a high-quality, high-ratio/small group child care program (8 children) at an exceptional in-home environment in North Burnaby.
Working with the Manager and Director, the ECE will be responsible to assist in the implementation of new programming, systems, ensuring adherence to licensing policies and procedures, helping with daily meal and nap routines, and maintenance of the surroundings.  
Qualifications:

  • Basic ECE with license to practice in BC
  • Training and work experience with children in a private, group or family child care/recreational setting
  • Some experience caring for infant/toddlers preferred
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Clear Criminal Record Check
  • Doctor's Note stating that candidate is both physically and mentally able to care for infants/young children
  • Non-smoker

Major Responsibilities:

  • To facilitate the implementation of a child-centered program
    • to assist daycare manager at nap time by caring for non-napping children while manager is putting infants/toddlers down for naps or assisting on excursions to local parks
    • prepare craft materials and assist children to use them
    • guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
    • prepare and serve snacks, arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
    • clean-up of toys, equipment, washing dishes, general tidying, and occasionally some children’s laundry
    • other duties as assigned by the Manager and/or Director.
  • Assists in ensuring program and site adheres to Health and Safety policies and procedures for Licensing

Certified Early Childhood Educator (or in-training) for a new Infant/Toddler Group Daycare required to provide help in the delivery of a high-quality, high-ratio/small group child care program (8 children) at an exceptional in-home environment in North Burnaby. Good candidates will potentially be offered future permanent positions at our growing centre.

Qualifications:

  • Basic ECE with license to practice in BC (or in-training)
  • Training and work experience with children in a private, group or family child care/recreational setting
  • Some experience caring for infant/toddlers preferred
  • First Aid Certificate preferred
